Kingdom: handmade, medieval - fantasy ring collection

This spectacular wedding ring collection, as its name suggests, was inspired by medieval fantasy films, series and games. The jewels of the collection are made exclusively with traditional, handcrafted techniques, and their patterns are applied to their surfaces by precise hand engraving. The decorative ornaments of the collection were made based on hundreds of years old patterns found in typically English archaeological finds.

History of Kingdom wedding ring collection

The decorative elements of the wedding ring collection 14.-15. We made it based on finds of English knives from the 18th century, which were mostly found in the preserving mud of the Thames.

In these years III. Edward sat on the throne of England and the Hundred Years War was in full swing. We associated this war-ridden age with the excellent series Game of Thrones, which, while depicting an imaginary medieval atmosphere, is very similar to III. to Edward’s time, of course excluding the spectacular, fantasy elements of the film.

It is no coincidence that in this period of the Middle Ages, a significant part of craftsmanship was focused on the manufacture of weapons, since almost everyone had a weapon. But the weapons were not only tools for use, but in a certain respect they can also be seen as jewelry, the most personal objects, the decorative elements of which revealed the affiliation of their owners. This rich world of motifs, which includes seals, billows, engravings, and carvings and characterized the whole of Christian Europe, served as the basis for our collection of wedding rings made of gold.

The most important feature of the jewelry in the collection is that their decoration is made by hand carving, a process that cannot be replaced by any modern technique. Neither 3D printing nor CNC or other precision milling processes can perfectly imitate this old, handcrafted decoration method.
